1. The other night I had cooked dinner (which is a very rare occurrence in the Light house, Alex is usually the one in the kitchen). About halfway through the meal Alex and I were having a conversation about the plans to finish up the music studio he is building and out of nowhere Hunter shouts "Mommy, mommy, mommy", and after he finally agrees he has my undivided attention he says "Thank you for my dinner mommy". We tend to take dinner making for granted in this house and I hardly ever say words of gratitude for my meal, so I am not quite sure where or when he picked this one up...but I thought it was the sweetest thing and something I should probably start doing myself!!
2. Currently our basement is in a state of disarray and we have to maneuver and climb over piles of miscellaneous items in order to get from one side to the other. As we make this voyage, Hunter says "excuse me" to all of the things (most of which are just drum stands) that he has to step over and move through.
3. When we are walking through stores and there is something that has fallen or been thrown to the ground, Hunter always stops to pick the item up and put it back on the shelf....this is after a countless amount of adults (including myself) had probably just walked on by it. Another lesson I and about 7 billion other people could learn from.
4. Hunter still is very much involved in helping us around the house. He loves putting his own dishes in the sink, helping fold laundry (well...he more so throws clothes onto my pile of folded clothes, but at least he is trying to help), and the other night he even helped us do some painting (don't worry folks, the area was well ventilated).
I love it! Can't wait to see you guys next weekend!!!
