Ok....let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here.....after all, today was only Hunter's first ice skating lesson. And even though he has expressed interest in the sport of Hockey, he is only 3 and does have plenty of time to change his mind. However, we have been told by several sources, including ex-hockey players themselves, that to have a fighting chance at advancing a career past the "Midget Minor" league, you have to start skating now. Not to mention, it makes for an excellent extra-curricular activity and, if he ends up really enjoying it, gives us another cheapish night out for Family Fun Friday.
Hunter actually impressed us on the ice today. He was able to push himself up to his feet on his own, and he stayed standing and "marching" on his own without falling for long periods of time....which is a good thing, considering neither his mom or dad thought to bring his snow pants, so the poor kid was stuck skating in a thin-pair of sports pants....don't worry folks, we will not make that mistake again!!
| With 10 minutes left in the class he finally had enough of sitting in cold, wet pants ...this is him shouting for me from the ice "Mommy, I need new pants"....epic fail on our part today!! |
This is the cutest thing I've ever seen!
