Busy, Busy, Busy

We are 2 months into the Kindergarten Chapter, and oh boy is it exhausting. The inconsistent schedule (since when do kids get the Friday before Labor Day off??), determining just the right level of micro-management on homework project(if he had only added the fish like I told him too, everyone would have known it was supposed to be a scuba-diver!), figuring out the best way to sound out vowels and how to explain silent letters when helping with the reading (seriously, who decided it was a good idea to put the "g" in "gnat"), it is all so tiring!!

Hunter is doing great and has learned so much already. He has also grown a lot in maturity over the last few weeks as well.  I love seeing this development, but sometimes it does make me feel a tiny bit emotional as I witness how fast he is growing right before my eyes.  Of course he has been growing/learning/developing ever since he was born, but it wasn't until now that I understand the whole notion of "in a blink of an eye".  It sort of feels like he will be graduating from high school tomorrow, and up until this point I have never really seen it that way.

I could probably go on and on and on about the unexpected emotional roller coaster I've been riding since the beginning of kindergarten....but instead of you all having to listen to my sob story, why don't I just share some Hunter updates instead (it would probably be more fun anyway).

Check out the hurricane Hunter drew (for some reason Hurricane Matthew fascinated him and he made us tell him all about this type of storm system...information he then used to create this drawing)

What better way to cover up an ugly stump than to turn it into a turtle

This is Hunter saying "thank you" to the cow for the ice cream we just consumed at this local farm

My favorite hockey player

Hunter decided we needed to practise trick or treating (on October 3)

Thank goodness we found a house that had a candy supply for our rehearsal

Blue Hills Hike:

Flume Gorge Adventure with Grandpa and Margaret

Corn Maze Adventure with GG and Boppa

No-Noggin Scarecrow Turned into a No-Noggin-With-A-Noggin Scarecrow

Hunter made me dinner last week. He even cleaned his dishes after wards!  He is the best son ever!

Long story long, we have been super busy, all fun stuff, but still busy....soaking in these days while my little boy is still my little boy (before I have to move him into his college dorm!!)
