First let me just say I have always been a Christmas nerd. I love the festivities and the atmosphere of everyone in the holiday spirit. However, this year I have become insanely annoyed with all of the commercialism and materialism revolved around the holiday. I know there are different theories on why we give gifts, but I think it has really got out of hand. I'm pretty sure Jesus is up there rolling his eyes every time a commercial airs that tries to entice you to buy your loved one a new car this Christmas season. Last year my sister Brandy had the awesome idea of making each other gifts for Christmas. We had so much fun doing it that it is now our annual tradition. I even learned a new skill just to make one person's gift (I can not disclose what that skill is because the recipient happens to be an avid reader of this blog and I don't want to spoil the surprise). I love that we do this because it keeps us focused on why we are even giving gifts to begin with. That being said, I could get into a long religious tangent about how Christmas has lost its true meaning, but I'm sure I wouldn't say anything new that you haven't heard before and I don't want to bore you all with the repetitiveness of it. I'm just going to end my 2011 Holiday rant by saying...Please remember what is truly important this Christmas season (I will give you a hint, it is not anything that can be wrapped and put under a tree).
OK, now to what you are really here for....news about Hunter:
Here is pictorial proof that Hunter can hold his own bottle
Aunty Lenore brought Hunter a Green Speckled Frog to go with his favorite song "Five Green and Speckled Frogs"...He loves it!!
When Hunter and I were running errands yesterday, he decided he wanted to surprise his dad by getting him a new travel coffee mug since the old one broke.
He put this note on his dad's gift. This was the first time Hunter signed his name on his own!!
