Last Thursday evening, Bubs and I found an intruder in our home...a real, live lady bug! (which is the only kind of insect-intruder allowed within these walls, all others are quickly met with a nice, strong thud of the bottom of my shoe). Bubs was enthralled with it, which contagiously made me enthralled with it and it kept us both entertained for over a half hour. I thought we had killed the poor thing at one time when it was dropped accidentally while being passed between Bubs and I, and then again when Bubbers squished it with one of his toys, but other than missing a leg or two, I think it survived the interaction with minimal damage.

Our Easter festivities started on Easter Eve. Bright and early Saturday morning, right after breakfast we turned the kitchen into an egg dying factory.
 |
| So they may not be the most vibrant colored Easter Eggs, but considering we let a one-year-old run the show, I think they look pretty darn good |
Saturday afternoon we headed over to our church for Hunter's first Easter Egg Hunt. He was in the 1-4 yr old age group, so it wasn't so much a "hunt" but more so just a bunch of toddler-approved items scattered on the field, no searching really necessary, but we had fun running from item to item and putting them in his bucket. Hunter also got to meet the Easter Bunny. Last year he didn't seem to mind sitting on the Easter Bunny's lap, but now that he is a year older and is more knowledgeable about life, he is of the understanding that the Easter Bunny is a mutant, giant, fur ball that doesn't change face expressions or makes sounds and therefore is more creepy than fun, which resulted in him being more skeptic than interested. He refused to let us put him down next to the bunny on his own for picture time, so we settled on family photos.

And since Bubs was such a good boy this year, that mutant, giant, fur ball of a bunny did end up sneaking into our house to leave him a trail of eggs and a fun basket, despite the fact that he wouldn't take a picture with it.
And since he loves having special jobs to do, Bubs took the responsibility of finding all of the Easter eggs very seriously.
After the hunt was over we spent the rest of the morning playing some of the new things that the Easter bunny brought. We were blessed with a beautiful day weather wise, so after Church we got to spend the whole afternoon outside playing. We even had a visit from some of our four-legged neighbors....I still think its the coolest thing that I can look out the window and see horse and cattle grazing the field behind our house!
Long story long, we had an amazing weekend, and we hope you all did too!!
i am glad you all had a great Easter holiday. love the pictures
