I am lucky enough to be able to work a part-time schedule. I typically have Friday's off, but if for some reason I have to work on a Friday I essentially get a floater day that I can use at my discretion throughout the month. When I initially had thought about taking today off I had big plans of dropping Hunter off at school at his normal time, then coming back home and reading my book all day. However, then I found out that Curious George was going to be at Patriots Place today, as well as a trick-or-treating event. Hunter is a huge George fan so I couldn't pass up this opportunity, thus I called him out of school and we had a bonus Mom and Bubs Day!!
We headed over to the movie theater for a reading of a Curious George book (the reading started about 30 minutes late, but Bubs and I got a good game of I SPY in while we waited). Hunter was decked out in his Hulk costume, which got him quite a bit of attention.
| There were a couple of times where we had to take the mask off to reassure some of the kids that were terrified of him that it was indeed just a costume |
After the story was read, Hunter got to meet one of his PBS heroes:
After the interaction with good old George, we headed out to join the Trick or Treating party. As it turns out, the beautiful fall day brought out seemingly millions of families to the events, so trick or treating turned out to be stand in line after line after line. We grabbed a few treats, but then resorted to just enjoying walking around looking at all the different costumes, we even ran into another Avenger hero along the way:
| Supposedly there were others that were supposed to be walking around, but Thor and Loki were the only 2 "real" characters that we saw |
Eventually all the walking we did made us starving for some lunch, so we took a break at CBS Scene to fill our bellies back up:
And of course we had to go up and down the escalators a couple million times...it was just like being in an amusement park (only way cheaper and no lines!!):
We then traveled over to the Patriots Hall of Fame, where Hunter got to be a part of the team:
| Well, I will say he is no Adam Vinitari, but he certainly gave a ton of effort trying to be! |
| "Don't worry big guy, you'll get it next time" |
| I have my very own Tom Brady!! |
| "All right, so here's the plan...." |
| "'Sup Vince" |
| "Bring it on Tedy" |
| Here is Hunter making the Butler catch to win the super bowl! |
| I just love being a New England fan !! |
After the museum we did a couple more rounds on the escalator before finally calling it a day. I am so glad we decided to do this....it was way more fun than spending the day reading a book!
