Laughing Contest

As I may have mentioned before, our typical going to bed routine consists of getting Hunter into a new diaper and pajamas, brushing his teeth, reading 2 books (I read one and Alex reads one), and then we just sing or talk (Bubski is an active participant in our conversations) while he winds himself down into a slumber. Alex and I form a barrier around the bed and Hunter usually spends some time crawling back and forth giving us snuggles or hair-pulls. He also has the tendency of sitting himself up and then doing full body dives around the bed. It is pretty comical to watch him do this, as the more tired he gets, the more sloppy he is with moving around. He almost resembles someone who has had too much rum in his bottle. We were in such a setting tonight when Hunter tried to sit himself up but couldn't get his balance right (due to his utter exhaustion) and instead fell straight backwards. Alex and I found this to be funny, so we both started to chuckle a little bit. Somehow that magically gave Huntski a second wind because he sat himself straight up with a huge smile on his face and started giggling, which of course only made Alex and I laugh even harder, which made Hunter laugh even harder...I'm sure you know where I am going with this.  Long story short, the three of us were laughing each other into hysterics for a good ten minutes.  It was one of those moments where I wish I had a video camera built into my head so that I could film it and play it back, as this is one of those things that you simply just had to be there for.  Anyone who has ever heard Hunter do his big belly laugh could probably picture it at least a little...but, let me tell ya, it was priceless.  Not long after that, Hunter finally tuckered himself out into a deep sleep

Alex is taking one of his "long blinks" as he calls it...which is also something that typically happens during our nightly routine
Also, today we created "Hunters Basket Of Miscellaneous Stuff". It was an idea that we read about and heard about through a friend of the family. We basically just designated a basket full of different things that Hunter can analyze and figure, things that are different colors and textures than his toys. He has his own set up measuring spoons, a half-full bottle of water, an old remote control, a cup, a Red Sox hat, and a wipes holder. We will be adding some more stuff as the days go on, but we thought this would be a good start.

Tonight Hunter also discovered that he has access to our dvd/vhs stand. He had a blast taken movies off the rack. We try to let him explore anything he wants, within common sense reason of course (obviously we won't let him test out if he received his dad's electrical skills just yet). I love to just sit back and watch him figure things out, and I often wonder what he is thinking about as he is doing it. Babies are such amazing creatures aren't they!!

Hi Handsome!!! (every time I take the camera out Hunter tries to steal it from me...so far he has not succeeded, but he is definitely getting to be a strong little man...I like to use these opportunities to get up close and personal shots)
