A Trip Down Memory Lane and Some Other Stuff

On Saturday night after Hunter went to bed I poured myself a hot cup of caffeinated tea (this is an important detail, as it was the tool I used to try to enable myself to stay up past 9 pm on a weekend night....seeing as I don't think I even saw 8:30 on Friday night) and set myself up for a long night in my studio. My night included a couple of different fun projects, but the highlight of it was loading up a disc of photos that my sister-in-law Lindsey had put together for me of all the shoots she did of Hunter's first year. While fishing through the hundreds of photos on the disc I found some that I had never seen before and that I think are worth sharing, even if it does mean having to go back in time a little bit...

Now this is only a very small fraction of what I could be sharing with you all....anyone interested in filling up an afternoon of a Light-House-Year-In-Review, feel free to come on by and I will gladly setup a slide show for you.  However, for the purpose of this blog post I must save room for other news and updates.

Also on this past weekend's agenda was the completion of the 5 mile Jimmy Fund Marathon accomplished by my Dad, Hunter, and I.  The actual walk took place while we were out of town, so we got to choose our own route. We decided on a walk from the Sagamore Bridge to Scussett Beach and back. Saturday in MA was a sunny, low 60's, fall day, which turned out to be perfect for the event (although we could have used a little less wind in our faces during the return trip).  This year we decided to ask the participants of the Jimmy Fund cookout to give us names of whom we should be walking for, of which this list was comprised as follows:

In Loving Memory Of:
Kate DeSantis
Susan Owens
Christine Lyons
Lanetta Wright
Betty Carpenter

In Honor Of:
Marge Ruby
Mike Wright
Phil Stanley
Paula Faiella

Our thoughts and prayers are with all families effected by this horrible disease

Today we packed the troops up and headed up to New Hampshire to watch my nephew Eryk's football team, the Milford Mustangs.  This year Eryk had moved up a level in the town leagues, and we definitely noticed a difference in how much more intense this new level of football is compared with the younger leagues. The players were running faster, hitting harder, making more difficult plays. The last 4 minutes were intense. The Mustanges were down by 2 touchdowns when they got the ball. In 3 quick plays they got the ball in the end zone, and then succeeded in an on-side kick which got them the ball back with 2:19 to spare. The crowd was cheering loudly, the fan base of both teams on their feet.....unfortunately for our side, the QB threw an interception which gave the Eagles the ball back and the Win.  Oh well, it was still fun to watch anyway.   Better luck next time Mustangs!!!

2 minutes left, Mustangs have the ball

Both sides get into position

The QB draws back to make the throw

Which goes right into the hands of the an Eagles player....whoops....

At least Eryk didn't seem too bent out of shape about the loss

An indoor football game morphed into a wrestling match...funny how that happens

Should I be worried that Hunter seemed intrigued by a scary face that pops with a a knife?

Hunter is never without a drum set

awww, isn't that sweet....

awwww, isn't that sweet....
