Hunter loves playing with his toy cars, and lately he has wanted to share is love of this past-time with everyone else. Last night after dinner I was amidst my evening chore duties of doing the dishes and getting lunches ready for the next day when out of the blue Hunter walked up to me and pulled on my leg until I looked down at him. Once he knew he had my attention he held up his yellow car and gave me the look that said "mom, please play cars with me". The dishes were only half done and the lunches had not yet been started, but as I'm sure you may have guessed, I dropped everything I was doing to play toy cars with my baby boy. There will always be dishes to clean and lunches to make, but the days when my son asks me to join him in racing cars are limited in the grand spectrum of life, so I will seize those moments when they happen!!

| Hunter: "Mommy, can you please come play cars with me?" |
| Hunter: "I promise it will be a lot of fun!!!" |
| Hunter: "Ok mom, seriously, would you just put that camera down and come play cars with me!!" |
| Hunter: "Look, its real easy, I will show you how" |
| Hunter: "Charlie, you are in the middle of the road...move it or lose it" |
| Hunter: "See, mom, and then we can even race with this" |
| Hunter: "And look, our cars can even fly....ffffuuuummmm" |
| A quick 2 second snuggle on the couch break |
| Hunter: "VVVVVRRRRROOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!" |
| Hunter: "So you see ma, there's all sorts of neat things you can do with these cars" |
We spent quite a long time crawling around making the best car noises we could. Of course my 30 year old knees don't handle the hard-wood floor quite the same way as a 1 year-old's knees do so Hunter was leading the way most of the time; however, he did get really excited when I came up with new courses for us to try, like the chair handles or the blinds on the slider door. I have a feeling that will be our new after school activity for a while when cold, rainy weather keeps us inside.
And of course when he is all tuckered out from the cars for the day, there is plenty of other things to keep him busy....
now that sounds like a lot of fun. i can't wait to play cars with him.
