After dinner time was spent cleaning up and wrapping presents. Turkey coma kicked in and most of us hit the hay on the early side.
Sunday morning we went out to breakfast. While waiting for the food to come, Hunter kept himself entertained my stacking empty creamer cups and reading books.
| Nope, he's not sleeping here....he is actually cuddling with the picture of the cat in the book |
After breakfast we stopped by a local pond to feed the birds. Unfortunately there were only two seagulls that swooped by, so Bubski didn't get as much enjoyment out of it as we were hoping...but at least his dad remembered to bring the football so they could at least have a little fun on the beach.
The 4-hour car ride home kept us from staying too much longer after this, but we are grateful we got to have such an enjoyable weekend (wish everyone lived closer so we could see them all more!!!).
Thanksgiving Celebration Part 2 took place at our house. Aunty Allie was over and we spent the morning watching the Macy's Parade, even Charlie got wrapped up in the TV spectacular:
After the lazy morning, Bubs took a bath and got spruced up...isn't he just the most handsomest little man ever....
And of course you have to have a backyard football game while the Turkey is cooking, otherwise it wouldn't be a real Thanksgiving....
Around 3pm we started getting the table ready for the big meal, completed with the Tree of Thanks which held cards of gratefulness....even Hunter filled one out this year....
Because Hunter was so excited about the day, he did not take his usual afternoon nap, so he was not able to stay awake to watch the start of the Patriots game...but don't worry, we told him all about the blow out the next day.
I was intending to be one of those nuts that woke up before the butt-crack of dawn to hit some Black Friday deals, but the discovery of a leak in my gas tank the day before prompted Alex and I to instead spend the day getting me a new car (my beloved Ford Taurus Sedan lasted 10 years and 165K miles and gave me virtually no problems until now....I will miss it {and the no car payments} dearly). Bubs got to spend the day with his Grandpa Bill and Margaret while Alex and I spent it at the Sullivan's Toyota dealership...at least we got some free lunch at the dealership out of the deal. I walked a way with a 2010 Toyota Camry...here's hoping it lasts me a very long time...the whole car-purchasing ordeal is agonizing!!
We picked Bubbers up at around 4 and then we took him to get his very first haircut (sorry folks, we couldn't hold off any longer...the curls were getting out of control). We went to Super Cuts and a girl named Danielle was the lucky chosen one to hold the fate of the curls in her hands. Bubs was much better behaved than I had expected, he only had a couple of meltdowns while sitting in the hot-seat, but overall he was very cooperative
He is still the most handsomest little boy ever. And thank you again for letting me spend Thanksgiving with you Light's. I had an amazing time. That was an insane patriots game. love you all
