The Learning Sponge Era

Everyday Hunter is learning and saying and doing new things, and I am in awe every time.  He mimics, he balances, he jokes, he helps, he understands, he conceptualizes, he commands, he manipulates, he loves, and he memorizes. He can name the animals he points at in pictures.

He loves to dance, his new hit move is to spin around in circles to the beat of a song.

He knows where the clean dishes go and volunteers to help me empty the dishwasher.

He gets angry when he thinks I am being tormented (even if it is by a very friendly family dog that I am merely playing a good old-fashioned game of tug-of-war with).

He has morphed from the Godzilla that tore buildings down to the Architect the constructs skyscrapers:

He knows a whole slew of words: mom, dad, dishes, cow, cat, dog, up, down, turtle, car, vroom, cheese, "I see you", "excuse you", crackers, cookie, hot, duck, quack, football, ball, Hunter, "all done", no, two, Allie, grandpa (sort of...he at least attempts it...sounds more like bampa), that, this, book, "thank you", "you're welcome"....

He doesn't like to hold my hand when we are walking in public, but he always keeps an eye on me to make sure I am close by.

He knows more sign language than we know (and we often have to ask the teacher what certain signs mean...we probably should do a little more reading up on that).

He doesn't argue when we say "Ready for books and bed?"

He loves to play in forts and tunnels

He still terrorizes Charlie, but he also gives Charlie more hugs and kisses than anyone else in the world (ok...that is additional terrorizing of the cat, but at least that is more sweet than malicious, like pulling his tail or throwing balls at his face)

He tries to make us laugh by doing silly things....and it works every time....

In other news.....
A huge shout-out to my sister Sondra on her recent engagement to Kathy!!! I am so excited for the both of you.  The love and support you have given to each other over the past few years exemplify what a positive and strong relationship should contain. I wish you a world of happiness and a lifetime of good fortune.  Love you both!!!  Welcome to the family Kathy (and Amara).

  1. i am so happy for Sondra and Kathy. They are such a wonderful couple. As for Hunter he is just amazing and i love the pictures of Hunter and Charlie in the tunnell together. No matter how much Hunter terrorizes Charlie Charlie still protects him and loves him. That is a wonderful bond.
