Scoots McGee

Hunter is at that stage where if you put him down on the floor and leave the room for 1 minute, when you come back in he is on the other side of the floor. He is now officially considered a scooter. Right now he primarily scoots backwards, but this week I did see him do a couple of forward scoots. Of course he really wants to be running right now and sometimes he gets frustrated with his lack of ability to do certain things. I keep having to remind him that he is, in fact, still just a baby and he should really stop trying to grow up so fast.

What you can't tell from the below pictures is that he started on the other side of the blanket and moved back to the corner. I had intended to phototistically track his progress, but my camera ended up distracting him...so you will just have to take my word for it.

This week Alex had to go on his first business trip post-Hunter. He was gone from Monday morning until Friday night. Last Sunday, Hunter and I kept Alex company while he packed for his trip. Hunter was so sad that his dad was leaving. He even tried to sneak into Alex's suitcase so he could go with him:

Unfortunately for Hunter, I caught him and I picked him up and said "oh no, you are not leaving me too...someone's got to stay and keep me company". The week ended up going by pretty quickly. Hunter took his Grandma Glenni and I out to dinner for Valentine's day. Then on Wednesday he had a visit from one of his good friends Ally K., and on Thursday he got to hang out with his Aunty Lindsey and his Aunty Allie. So we were able to keep him busy for the most part.

But alas, on Friday night his dad made it home from his trip safe and sound, and now all is right in the world:
