The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread

One of my favorite post-work activities is hanging out with Hunter in his playroom. It never ceases to amaze me just how much he grows and learns every day.  Sometimes I find myself wondering just where he is picking up some of the things that he does and what is going through his head when he is doing them.  For example, the other night, we had a train of animals making rounds on the imaginary tracks that sprawled across the room. Out of nowhere, Hunter started making a "rawer" sound, grabbed the Giraffe conductor from the train and started gnawing on it viciously. The whole scene reminded me of a lion pouncing and feasting on an unsuspecting Zebra. Of course I cannot be certain that is what he was actually attempting to do, but it appeared to be some sort of role playing that he was doing.  He was taking his little game so seriously that I couldn't help but laugh.  He is so darn cute!! He now "talks" quite often to himself/others as he is playing, I love watching it all happen. The best part of these evenings though, is the fact that amongst all of our playing, he sporadically takes a break and puts his toys down and finds his way over to me to get a quick Mommy-hug.  After the swift snuggle he goes right back into whatever game he was in the middle of.  It melts my heart every time!!!

In other news, it is Bruins night in the Light house.  We are hunkered down watching game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.  Hunter used up so much energy while tensely watch the 1st period that he eventually just feel asleep...out of nowhere....

He was sitting up intently watching the game one minute

And the next minute he was hunched down on his dad's lap fast asleep

Less than 4 minutes,  1-1......Let's go Bruins!!!!
