Yet Another Reason Why I am the Luckiest Girl in the World

My wardrobe has been down in the dumps lately. I am either rocking my maternity clothes, or squeezing into my pre-baby clothes (which usually ends up with my having a stomach ache from wearing pants that are too tight). Of course instead of doing something to solve this problem (ie...going out to buy myself new clothes that fit properly), I had resorted to just complaining on a daily basis to anyone who felt like listening. Luckily for those of you who have been the hearing sound of these complaints, that has all come to an end today.

This morning I woke up at my usual work-day wake up time of 5:30am to a dozen roses and card. That card began with a love letter and ended with a "Go back to bed. You have the day off. Your boss knows.....I am not kidding. When you wake up, we are going shopping :) "

Ironically, my response was the same that I gave Alex when he proposed, which was "Are you serious?" As it turns out, he had been planning my "Princess Day" for a couple of months now. He even contacted my boss to give her the heads up that I would not be in today. My little surprise bundle also included the entire directory for the Wrentham Outlets as in the past I have commented about wanting to do a shopping spree there.

Long story long....we dropped Hunter off at day care at the usual 7am (trust me, he had a much better time playing at day care than he would have had walking around clothing stores with his folks); and 4 pairs of pants, 4 tops, 1 dress, 1 cardigan, 2 pairs of Naturalized shoes, 3 bras, socks, delicious lunches at Ruby Tuesday, Friendly's ice cream cones, and 5 1/2 hours later I am equipped with enough stuff to make me feel less like the frumpy bore that I felt like and more like the confident woman that I am. Its true what they say...clothes don't make the man....but, boy what a mental difference you feel wearing something that actually fits! To add to it all, during the whole time Alex waited patiently while I tried things on, held all of my bags, gave me honest feedback, did not once give the impression of boredom, and allowed me to do a fashion show of all the clothes when we got home, even though he already saw them in the store (I had to do a double check to make sure I didn't have any buyers remorse). If that isn't a recipe for a Prince Charming, I don't know what is!!!!
